When I built my first PC in 2004, the first game I bought was Battlefield 1942. I mostly played the Deseret Combat mod, got involved in a clan and had a blast doing it. Since then I’ve played basically every PC iteration of the battlefield series including the cartoony free-to-play Battlefield Heroes (which is pretty good btw). The Battlefield series is by far my favorite FPS series of all time. Battlefield Bad Company 2 has everything in it that makes an FPS game good, including… singleplayer? What?
We played for a couple hours tonight and ended up going from level 17 to 20. Now we’re riding in style… though it seems a little sluggish since it’s been about 4 years since I’ve ridding on a regular mount. I’m excited to be level 20 and get the even boostier experience boost. 300% experience is awesome.
I bought Final Fantasy 12 the day it came out on Halloween 2006. I played the hell out of it for a solid 2 or 3 weeks until I got Guitar Hero 2 for my birthday. After dumping hours and hours into GH, I never had the desire to make it back to FF12… until now. Well I guess that’s not entirely true. I’ve had the desire, I’ve just never done it for whatever reason. Now, be it a bad decision or not, I am playing it again even though I have dozens of other games that I have picked up and never touched and dozens more on my radar.
I’ve played for about 3 hours and am so far having a great time with it. I hope I can avoid the distractions of other games and plow my way through it. We’ll see how long it lasts… we all know how my MGS reNOOB career went. I’ll get back to them.. you’ll see. Anyways, I’m really excited about playing the game and I hope to posts my thoughts and feelings here and also on twitter as I make my way through Ivalice.
My birthday happens around Thanksgiving. In fact, I was born on Thanksgiving. What that means is that my birthday is always around Black Friday and usually I can score some pretty good deals for myself. Last year, Blizzard put up their vanilla World of Warcraft on sale for $5 over the weekend. Being the unselfish person that I am, I decided to buy a copy for my wife for my birthday.
