More like Battlefield Awesome Company 2

Battlefield Bad Company 2 ScreenshotWhen I built my first PC in 2004, the first game I bought was Battlefield 1942.  I mostly played the Deseret Combat mod, got involved in a clan and had a blast doing it.  Since then I’ve played basically every PC iteration of the battlefield series including the cartoony free-to-play Battlefield Heroes (which is pretty good btw).  The Battlefield series is by far my favorite FPS series of all time.  Battlefield Bad Company 2 has everything in it that makes an FPS game good, including… singleplayer?  What?

Say hello to my new friend.

The Stone Prisoner is a piece of DLC that came included with your “new” purchase of Dragon Age: Origins (as opposed to buying it used at GameStop or whatever).  The regular purchase price for the DLC is $15.  Basically you run into a guy who offers you a control rod that can be used to activate a stone golem in a nearby town.  Well, the town is also overrun by darkspawn that you have to clear out in order to finish the quest line and gain access to the golem named Shale.  It also involves a cat, a little girl, and a desire demon (YES!).

Braid.

braidHere’s another one of those posts with me talking about a game that I should have talked about a long time ago.  To my credit though, Braid was released on the PC in April 2009 and PS3 in November 2009.  So for those that ONLY have a PS3, this might be relevant.  However I played the PC version that I picked up on the Steam post Christmas sale for $2.49… so what do I think of Braid?

Late Review: Dead Space

deadspaceDead Space is one of those games that falls under the category of “Awesome single player game that doesn’t need a multiplayer component”.  It also falls into the category of games that came out at least a year ago that I’m finally getting around to playing.  I picked up Dead Space a while back for $15 at Target (what a steal!) and finally got around to playing and finishing it yesterday.  The game took me about 11 hours to complete on standard difficulty after which I immediately started a second play through.  Why you ask? Read on.

I am INFAMOUS

infamousI never said that reNOOB was about game new releases, reviews or anything current for that matter.  What I do talk about is what I feel like.  I talk about what I am playing and currently I am playing 2 PS3 games that could be considered older.  One of those games is Infamous.

Infamous was released on May 26, 2009 and from what I remember from various podcasts was that it was an awesome game.  I always wanted to play it.  When it came out, I didn’t have a PS3… I do now.

Infamous is easily one of the better PS3 exclusives out right now.  The best way to explain the game is Crackdown with super powers… real super powers.  The game starts out with you in the middle of a huge explosion… you come out with electrical super powers.  Your weapon is electricity and as you use your powers, you deplete this energy that must be recharged by sucking the electricity from the city.  Lights, generators, cars, power wires are all fuel for your power.
